Moon and Stars

I ordered Austin's bedding today! I can't wait for it to ocme in. I think it's going to look great with the dark blue wall behind it.
Here it is! This is his room with his name, moon, stars, and cloud decals added. I'm pretty excited about it. It looks even better in person than in the picture!
We also got the glider today for Austin's room. Here's the proud Dad finally taking a break after all of his hard work!

Tomorrow we will be doing a little more shopping for Austin's room. We're making progress:)!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

What a fantastic Christmas! We couldn't have asked for a better first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs. Watts. Andrew's brother and his family are here from Mississippi and we've have spent most days going back and forth from Odessa listening to Christmas music. Andrew got VERY excited when we finally got to hear the redneck 12 days of Christmas! We both sang that one beautifully:)! We spent Christmas Eve night in Hobbs with my family. Apparently my dad had been a bad boy this year because he got a lump of coal! Ha ha ha...
Kamden and Kason on Christmas Eve. They got new TVs and are VERY excited. Kason's reaction was classic and fortunately it was caught on tape.

Yep, this is the Watts clan! We were thrilled they came over to Hobbs to spend the afternoon with us. Then we went over to Carlsbad for Christmas on the Pecos. This isn't even everyone, most of the kids were in the back room playing games.

Christmas on the Pecos! So pretty and got to hang out with family! This is Uncle Drew with Emily and Ashlyn.

Oh yes, we took up most of the boat! I think we all had a great time and many laughs. They could have new rules next year about allowing us to come together again;).

After Christmas on the Pecos Kent, Karen, Shane, Sarah, and all of the kids came back over to our house for another round of Bezzerwizzer. (We played twice on Christmas.) This round we added a little bet to it that the losing couples had to bring cookies to the winners next Christmas. Yep, Andrew and I kicked butt. We're looking forward to our cookies next Christmas:)! Such fun times...

Progress!

Oh yes, remember this? This is where we were when we started on Austin's room... And this is where we are now...
Yeah, can you tell much has changed? I have been doing some SERIOUS cleaning out over the break. Andrew has also been on vacation. He did all of the painting in between trips to Odessa. He did such a great job. I REALLY like it! The decals came in and I will be adding the clouds, moon, and stars to the blue wall tomorrow. I'm so excited to see how that will look! On Tuesday we will be doing some baby shopping. We're going to look for the other pieces of furniture to add to his room. Can't wait!

I'm free!

That's right, it's officially Christmas Break! Thank goodness! It was touch and go there for awhile. This break is very NEEDED! Today was my last day and Andrew gets to start his vacation next week also. We are very excited and have tons to do! I have lots of house cleaning to accomplish. I'm cleaning things out! I also have not wrapped ONE present yet, so that'll be a big job. AND we'll be working on Austin's room. He officially has carpet now....
Progress! Compare that picture to the previous one and we've done a lot! On the agenda this week is PAINTING! I think we've decided on a dark blue wall and then "cafe latte" for the other 3 walls. The colors look great together! I cannot wait to see the room after it's done! I ordered the cloud wall decals! Can't wait to get them! I also ordered this quote for one wall...
How perfect is this quote for his room? And we also got the stars to put around the clouds. I only ordered the white ones.

I am so anxious to see his room painted AND to see the decals on the walls! I think it's going to be too cute:).

2 Years, 1 Year

Ahhh...December 12...What a special day! Two years ago today Andrew and I had our first date. He drove over from Odessa and we went to dinner at Cattle Baron and then to the movies. We saw Four Christmases. It was a great first date! After we got to know each other later he teased me he didn't like the movie much because it was a chick flick. The funny thing is I walked in on him watching it again in the bedroom on HBO not too long ago;). ONE year ago today we got engaged. We were in Austin and spent the day Christmas shopping. That night we went to Bev and Bill's wedding. Here is a picture of Courtney that sang at their wedding that night. As soon as she started singing I knew she needed to sing at ours too!
This is me and Andrew at the reception! We had a good time talking, eating, and dancing! We had our first dance this night.
This is Bev and Bill! They had such a beautiful wedding. We're glad we got to be there for it:). Happy 1st anniversary!

The Arboretum in Austin - Very pretty! We've been there MANY times! In fact...I wouldn't mind going back again soon!

A proposal, a ring, and ice cream...what more can you ask for:)???

I finally broke...

I have not bought ONE thing for Austin....until today. Today I did a little shopping. This first picture I haven't bought yet, but I'm going to! Austin's room is going to be done in moon and stars. I'm going to order these vinyl clouds to put on the wall. How cute are they!?!?
Soooo...I went to Hobby Lobby today and made a few purchases. I got these letters to put up on the wall above his crib. I'm going to hang them from some cute ribbon above his crib.
Ahhhhhhh...I found this frame and HAD to have it. This is Austin's picture in it already:)!
I put this up on the wall that's right before you go into Austin's room. Love it!
And....for the main purchase today...we got carpet for Austin's room! My mom and dad are actually getting it for him. They were going to buy his crib, but we've decided to use Kason's since it's still in great shape. I went after to school to look and see what I could find. The first place I went they had a great deal on some carpet that is almost identical to the carpet in the living room AND it's in stock NOW! The carpet layers are going back to Dallas for Christmas on Friday, so they are laying the carpet Thursday morning! Woohoooo!
No pink carpet for Austin:)!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Andrew and I actually did our decorating last weekend, but I'm just now getting the pictures up. We've had a few minor technical difficulties with light bulbs and timers, but I think that's all straightened out now. I got these stockings last year at Kohl's. We had them up in Andrew's apartment in Austin last year. Mandy gave me this cute ornament for our tree! How cute is this!?!?

Our Christmas tree! Now I just need to get some presents wrapped to put under it!

You can't really tell, but the lights on our house are red and white alternating.

That's a Tech football player! I got it last year to replace the Double T that had been stolen 2 years ago! (Yes, I'm still bitter!)

Thankgiving Break

Andrew and I have been enjoying some much needed days off! However, I'm not sure how "off" we've been. We've actually been pretty busy! On Wednesday Andrew was working while I was shopping and cooking for Thanksgiving. Thursday we were in Hobbs with my family for lunch and then headed over to Odessa for dinner with Andrew's family. What a great day! On Friday Andrew cleaned all of the front yard from leaves, needles, etc. while I was getting the inside cleaned up and ready to put out the Christmas decorations. I also started working on changing "The Pink Room" to Austin's room. We have a LONG way to go! Yes, that is my wedding dress laying on the bed! (It's not there now though.) We even got our Christmas lights put up!

Saturday Andrew and I went to Lubbock for a day of shopping and football. We got a very good jump on our Christmas shopping. Andrew was an excellent shopping buddy! We also went to the Houston @ Tech game. It was the final home game of the season and it was at night! It was pretty chilly (in the 30s), but Andrew and I dressed very warmly and brought our Snuggies. This pic was taken at the end of the 4th quarter while we were enjoying some hot chocolate. You can see how many fans were left by this point!
And yes...Texas Tech won:)!! What a great break, but now it's back to work for both of us. We will be looking forward to Christmas break that will be here very soon!

Baby Austin

Today Andrew and I got to go for another sonogram! Things went great and the doctor said Austin looks wonderful! We got 13 pictures! I'll just share a few with you here. He is still definitely a HE. We have a definite picture proving this, but I'm gonna keep his goods off the internet:). I looooove this profile picture of him... These are his cute little feet. She was able to count all 5 toes on one foot, but he started moving too much to count them on the other foot. I think the look good though:).
This his face. He kind of looks like an alien here.

He kept putting his hands in front of his face during the sonogram like last time. He also was VERY active during the sonogram. The kid doesn't like to be still. Yikes!

Let the holidays begin!

It's that time of year when things get CRAZY! In 4th grade we have our New Mexico project due this week before Thanksgiving. All of the kids are doing their presentations this week. It makes school CRAZY. Friday will be our classroom feast. Yum! Immediately after the feast it's time to begin decorating our classroom for Christmas. Can you believe it? Fortunately, next week is a short week and then I get some days off! Andrew and I are really looking forward to lunch in Odessa and then dinner here after on Thanksgiving. I doubt we'll starve that day;). Andrew has been really busy at work and working long hours. He said it will continue for the next 2-3 weeks, but should get better after. We are already looking forward to Christmastime. I will be off for 2 weeks and he will be taking his vacation time then as well. We can't wait to see Kent, Karen, Pete, Ashlyn, and Emily. They will be here (Odessa actually) from Mississipi!

Victory...Finally!

This past weekend was one full of football. On Friday Andrew, Dad, and I headed over to Odessa to go to the Odessa High and Midland Lee football game. Odessa High's star running back will be a Red Raider next year. I've heard tons about him and he lived up to all of the hype with 6 touchdowns and over 300 yards! He's #4. Next, on Saturday Mandy and I headed over to Lubbock for the Missouri @ Tech game Saturday night. We did a little shopping before and then headed to the game. I must say, Mandy must have been the most excited Red Raider in the house. It was her 3rd game and was fantastic!
Finally...after what's been a very painful season, Texas Tech upset the #12 team in the nation. It was lots of fun!

I was sooooo very tired after the game. Mandy had to do the driving home and I fell sound asleep! Thanks for going, Mandy! I had tons of fun:)!

Pink or Blue??

Thursday is the big day we get to go for the ultrasound! We will be finding out (hopefully) if we will be having a boy or a girl! Somehow I have to survive the day at work. It happens to be Lea County In Service Day. The kids get out at 12:20, BUT the teachers have to go suffer through a LONG presentation from a speaker with all of the other Lea County teachers. After that, we have the appointment. We can't wait:)!

Halloween

Halloween is actually my LEAST favorite "holiday." I like the little kids dressing up in cute costumes part, but I HATE the blood and knife costumes the older kids do. There's nothing like opening your front door to someone with an ax through their head. However, I'm in the spirit and ready to see my nephews today. Earlier I made some Halloween popcorn to add to their goodie buckets. Kamden is going to be a hockey player and Kason is Buzz Lightyear. I'm sure they'll be cute:)! Halloween popcorn! It's yummy!

The Agony of Defeat

I ALWAYS go to all home games at Tech. Somehow this year things went a little crazy. This past Saturday I FINALLY got to head to a much anticipated Saturday afternoon at The Jones. I was sooo excited! Before the game we had a flyover. These are always exciting! Pretty cool!

Unfortunately, after the flyover the game started. We played OSU. We'll just leave it as Potts isn't my favorite quarterback of all time:(.

The next home game is against Missouri on November 6th. Brandi and Travis (the friends I have season tickets with) won't be able to make it. Andrew would rather stay home to watch Texas (however he's going with me to the Houston game on the 27th!), so I got to invite my friends, Mandy and Shara, to go to the game. Mandy is so excited I'm not sure she'll be able to sleep the night before the game!

My Stud

Andrew has been gone this week to a training in Midland for work. Boy, did I miss him! He has been so sweet putting up with me. He has been VERY good about humoring me and my cravings. I crave queso from Chilis, beans and rice from La Fiesta, and chili dogs from Weinerschnitzel. NOOO, I'm not picky...really;). Andrew and the drill we got for the wedding.
Ahhhhhh...my stud:)

Andrew trying out the new drill!

Baby's Heartbeat

We had our 3rd doctor's visit today! We got to hear the heartbeat! I recorded the heartbeat on my phone while we were there. I thought that part was pretty cool! Our next visit is a BIG one. On November 4th we will found out PINK or BLUE!!!

The First Baby Gift

Everything has been a little crazy since announcing to everyone that we're going to have a baby! I have been overwhelmed with the thoughfulness that has been shown. For some reason I was most worried about my students' reactions. I told them by playing Hangman and the phrase was...Mrs. Watts is going to have a baby. It was so hard not to bust out laughing during the game. We had to spell out the ENTIRE phrase before the light bulb went on in their heads. I saw it click on most of their faces and their reactions were sooo sweet. They are sooo excited.
This is one of the cards I received that was so thoughful.
Sterling gave me this card and it was so sweet. Love that kid!

This morning my sweet Zakaya came in with this gift in a bag. I asked her what the gift was for and she it's because I'm having a baby. I opened it up and found the most thoughtful gifts for Baby Dub. I have been sooo tempted to buy a few things here and there, but I'm afraid once I start I won't stop! So I'm forcing myself to wait until we know pink or blue. This gift was so thoughtful because it will work for boy or girl. It's also special because it's the first gift for the baby. Hopefully if we have a girl she will be as sweet and thoughtful as Zakaya:).
And a funny story...during all the craziness of the announcement, Reece raised his hand and asked what we would name the baby. I told him the names for a boy and a girl. He looked at me very seriously and said, "Hmph, well I hope it's a boy then!" He doesn't like our girl name:)! LOL
