Scorp Attack!!

Scary critters!
The scene of the crime. Sheets are being washed now!

There's a red mark in the middle and then a whiter ring (I know I'm ghostly already) around that. I marked the outer edges (thank you Rachel) to see if it was spreading.

This morning Andrew and I were greeted with a very rude awakening! Just as his alarm went off at 6:20 I felt a pain in my leg and jumped up yelling that something was getting me. Andrew thought I was dreaming at first! Finally, I told him I thought a scorpion got me and he pulled back the covers and found the culprit. He killed it quickly, but not before the damage was done. That's my first scorpion sting and it HURT! Ouch! My leg burned for hours and my lips went a little numb for awhile. We have an exterminator coming Friday morning!

A Visit from the In-Laws

Sam opening his gifts!

Blowing out his candles!

Awwww, what a sweet family:).

Andrew and I got a special treat on Saturday. Andrew's parents came over to spend the afternoon with us. Sunday, the 25th, was Sam's birthday, so we also got to celebrate his birthday early with him. We had a great time! Happy birthday, Sam!

Officially a Watts

I have spent TWO days this week in line at the social security office, but I do finally have my new social security card being sent to me.
My new license! This REALLY made it official;).

AND our marriage certificate has been filed in Lovington.

Andrew and Sis at Dad's bday party. Andrew is sport his new Halliburton ensemble.

Dad blowing out his candles. He's 60!

Mom made Dad his favorite, Coke Cake.

Sis and Mom working over the cameras. We want to finish off all of the wedding cameras and get the ones that were left developed. If you happened to take yours, we'd like to have it back:)!
This has been a crazy week of sitting and waiting in all the different office, but I do think that I'm done with that part. I have been to Lovington to file the marriage license, sat in the social security office 2 times, sat in the MVD 2 times, and the bank 2 times. BUT that part is done and I think the rest I can take care of on the internet. We are legally Andrew and Kala Watts.

Mr. and Mrs. Watts

We have a mess! We have lots to do now that we are home! The good news is Andrew is off until Monday and I'm still off for the summer!
It's official! We are Mr. and Mrs. Watts!

This is our first glimps of American soil on the flight back from Mexico. Let me just tell you we were OVERJOYED to get home! We loved every second of our honeymoon, but it is certainly true...there's no place like home.

This is the name tag I attached to the luggage!

This picture makes me chuckle. This is Andrew walking through the airport carrying my pink and black bag that has the letter K on it. He told me that carrying that bag is how he knows that he's married because if we were just dating he wouldn't be carrying it. LOL I chuckled the whole way through the aiport at this.
Well, we are thrilled to finally be home and have tons of pictures to share, but we also have a lot to do. I'm going to get them all up eventually:). I think I'll clean for awhile and then blog for awhile, so keep checking back. These are just a few to peak your interest;).
Oh and the other background I had is no longer functional, so I had to grab this one quickly so this is readable! I'll work the blog over later when I have more time to make it cute and up to date with us NOT planning a wedding anymore:).

Signing Off

I started this blog back in January when July 10th was so far away. Now suddenly the family is here, the church is decorated, and the calendar says July 10. I hear so many people say they had cold feet at the last minute. I even have people ask if I'm sure I'm doing the right thing. Not because they don't like Andrew, but just from their own life experiences and the way things are today. I can say with complete confidence that I love Andrew with all of my heart and I can't wait to be his wife. I have no second thoughts. Tonight he only reminded me more of why. I completely messed up his night sending him home to find some tiny pink rhinestone hearts we needed for the reception when he was supposed to be driving to Odessa. Over an hour later of searching I found them in my purse. He smiled and told me he loved me. We will have a busy day tomorrow, but I plan to enjoy every moment of it. On Sunday we will head for Cancun. We have both agreed we will turn our cell phones off for the trip and turn them back on again when our return flight lands. It's time we had a break from the phone, time, schedules, and rushing. We love all of our friends and family so much. I can't tell you how blessed we are that so many of you are here to share our special day with us. So I'm signing off tonight as Kala Duke and will continue proudly on the flip side as Kala Watts.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Andrew and I did our wedding gifts tonight. We agreed when we booked the trip to Cancun that would be our main wedding gift to each other, but said we do some other small things. I gave Andrew this Texas flag to put in the front of our house, a frame to put pictures with his groomsmen, and engraved his wedding band. His wedding band says, "From This Moment On 7.10.10."
Andrew gave me this beautiful heart jewelry box. When I open it up it plays, "What a Wonderful World," one of our songs.

Things are in full swing at the church. I am an EXPERT bow tier at this point! I like how Dad is sitting and relaxing in this one:).

It's officially crunch time!

We have passports!!
The dining room
Yes, this is organized chaos! Somehow there seems to be 10 different projects going on always all at the same time, BUT the good news is we're getting there! The big news of the day is I officially have my dress!! No pictures of that;). We have big plans tomorrow! I'm finishing up the programs and we have some odds and ends to finish up from tonight. THEN we are going to tackle my hair!! We're going to give it a trial run and make sure we can pull off what I have in mind.

Just Dance!

All right, people it's crunch time!! I'm working on our list of songs for the wedding reception and asking for your help. What songs make you wanna Bust A Move!?!? I have a great list so far, but would love to hear if you have any favorite songs that make you want to Shake Your Groove Thing! You can post here or email me...kaladuke@windstream.net.

NEAR DISASTER!!!

So the week before the wedding is NOT a good time to have major things like the reception location go wrong! To make a long story short the last 2 days I've been dealing with the casino NOT having our wedding reception down. They've had a problem with their coordinators and he has been replaced, but our reception was not on the calendar. Today we met with the new coordinator and took a copy of our proof of the booking and payment. Things are all taken care of and OK, but it could have been a VERY bad situation. Let's hope there aren't anymore surprises like this!
