Baby Dub

Yes, it's official! We're having a baby! We are very excited and can't wait. I'm due April 5th. It's great timing because the previous week is spring break. I'll work up until spring break (the plan is for now) and then be done! I'm planning on hopefully/maybe working half days in May. It would only be from 1:00-3:30 and my parents can watch the baby. We'll wait and see on that part. For now, we're just very excited:)!

Isn't it Ironic?

Last night after we had dinner I started wanting Chili's queso. I told Andrew about it and he said he felt like Chilis would be in our near future. So today, as usual, as soon as I got off work I went out to get the mail. I found a card from Kari apologizing for being so late on sending my birthday card, but that she had been distracted (she was planning a wedding afterall, goodness knows I understand!) and included a gift card for Chilis! Now how's that for timing? Guess what we had for dinner tonight!?!?

Kari's Wedding

We had a great weekend in Albuquerque. We're not discussing that silly football game that occurred...not much anyway.
I got a GREAT pedicure for the wedding. Love it!
Drew and I found a new Coldstone on north 25 in Albuquerque. I was WAY excited!

This IS greatness!

This is where we ran up and down the hall to catch a few plays during that silly ballgame.

Me and Kari outside of El Pinto where we had her rehearsal dinner.

Kari looking gorgeous putting on her finishing touches. I was happy she borrowed my veil as her something borrowed!

The wedding party! The scenery was gorgeous overlooking the mountains.

Our table at the reception - We had to give our apologies for being so rude checking our phones constantly during that silly ballgame. We had a super fun night and enjoyed the little weekend getaway. Andrew was off all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We got to do some shopping (he LOVED that), eating out, gambling, dancing, sleeping in, relaxing, football watching, and just hanging out. Fun weekend!

We are fighting

Yep, that's right. Andrew and I are at odds this week. You see, this Saturday Texas plays Texas Tech in Lubbock. My loving husband texted me this picture earlier today that he has as his screensaver at work. We have argued and argued about this hit since last year. This is a DIRTY hit!
Of course, being the loving wife I am, I countered with this BEAUTIFUL picture of the Crab Grab. 'Nuf said!
This Saturday instead of being at the Texas and Texas Tech football game we will be at Kari's wedding! I am sooo incredibly excited to go and to get to be in her wedding, but I just wish I could be in 2 places at one time! I absolutely love Kari and Chris and I'm sooo excited for them to get married. Their wedding is going to be awesome! Fortunately, my dress is RED!! I had a brief scare for awhile because she originally wanted ORANGE. Can you imagine ME wearing ORANGE the day Texas and Tech play? Thankfully, she saw the RED light:).

This is going to be an interesting week and weekend! We will be heading to Albuquerque on Thursday and we will have a GREAT time! I am certain I can count on Andrew during the wedding to keep me updated on the score. I have a feeling I'll only have to look at his face to know how things are going! And here is a the picture of my ticket that I have to sell. Ohhhhh, how painful it is...
Yes, we will TRY to be kind to each other this week and weekend...TRY I say;).

Busy Times

John showed us the pictures they took of the rainbows he and Shannon saw when they were in Hobbs for our wedding. Shannon commented on what a good omen it was four our marriage:). If you look closely, it's a double rainbow!

Shannon gave us a scrapbook for a wedding present she made of our engagement pictures. This one particular makes me chuckle. The quote says, "A happy home is one in which each spouse grants the possibility that the other may be right, though neither believes it." (LOL The Longhorn and the Red Raider) During her funeral her scrapbook friends talked about her sitting back after finishing a page of scrapbooking and saying, "Man! I'm SOOO good at this!" I can totally see her saying that on these pages of our scrapbook. It's a very special gift to us.

Andrew and I have been very busy these last few weeks. Andrew has been working very late hours. Many times he doesn't get home until after 8! He has also had very few days off. We went to San Angelo last weekend for Shannon's funeral. We left Saturday afternoon and returned Sunday after the funeral. We were grateful for the time to get to spend with family, but so sad for the reason. Shannon's funeral was jaw dropping. We were amazed at the turnout and the love that was shown for her. She influenced so many people. The eulogies were unbelievable. Andrew was supposed to be off on Monday, but of course was called in and had to work most of the day. We are looking forward to spending this weekend in Hobbs. Next weekend we have mixed emotions for our trip. It's my best friend Kari's wedding in Albuquerque. However I am SOOO sad we won't be at the Texas and Tech game in Lubbock! Andrew is taking it like a champ! I'm a little hurt that Tech would even think of playing without me there;)! I hope Kari understands when I carry my cell phone as I walk up the aisle checking the scores. Just kidding! I promise to wait until after they say, "I do!" I am looking forward to Kari's wedding and Andrew and I getting away together for a little while. We are leaving on Thursday (we both have taken off Friday!) and returning on Sunday! I'm soooo excited!

With a heavy heart

Kent, Shannon, and Sandy

John, Sandy, and Shannon
Shannon and Kent

Shane and Shannon
Shannon said this was her favorite part of our dance - That shocks me;)!
Shannon took this picture of us at our wedding reception
Today was a bad day. This morning Andrew's cousin, Shannon, passed away. She was 37 years old and leaves behind a husband and 2 little boys. I think I can speak for everyone by saying it is completely shocking news. Shannon friended me on Facebook some time ago before we ever met in person. We talked quite a bit on there and seemed got to know each other. I immediately liked her, LOVED her sense of humor. The first time I ever met her in person was at my wedding shower in Odessa. She drove from San Angelo for the shower and surprised Andrew and me. When she walked in I looked at her and knew who she was. We immediately hugged and felt like we had known each other forever. After the shower Andrew, Shannon, and I went and ate at Texas Roadhouse. We sat and talked FOREVER. I told Shannon when we left that night that I felt like I had known her for years. We made plans that day saying that Andrew and I would love to go and visit them in San Angelo. She said she'd love to come see us in Hobbs and go hang out at the casino. Shannon told us that night she wanted to see her family much more. Shannon and John came to Hobbs for the wedding just 7 weeks ago. They stayed up at the casino helping us decorate for the reception very late the night before. The next day they were both at the wedding and had a BLAST at the reception. One of my favorite parts of the wedding video is seeing Shannon and Kent dancing to the Cotton Eyed Joe. This morning Andrew called to tell me the awful news...Shannon had passed away. She had been posting on Facebook the last several days saying she wasn't feeling well, but I didn't think it was going to come to this. I am sad, shocked, and baffled. It's very hard to believe. Last week I put as my status update that I couldn't wait for the Tech game on Sunday the 5th. Being a Longhorn fan, she responded she thought she might have to ignore my posts for the next couple of weeks. I think she might be laughing at me a little now. On Sunday I will not being going to the Texas Tech football game, but to to her funeral instead. Shannon, I'm glad I got to get to know you, but I'm sorry time was cut so short. We love you. You will be missed:(.
