The Mountains

I'm very behind on sharing the pictures of my little cutie, so I'm combining a lot of events together. Here is a picture of Ausin in an outfit Kristi gave me. This is an outfit Austin's cousins, Kamden and Kason wore. I THINK they both had it anyway... Dad's birthday...

Yummy cake and ice cream! Austin is a little daredevil and likes to be THROWN in the air!

I THOUGHT I had this one flipped around, but apparently not and I'm too lazy to go back and change it! This is Brenden, Reece, and Austin at our Friday play date....

Last weekend we went over to Midland for a Rockhound game. Austin did very well, but unfortunately the game went in to extra innings so we left before it was over. We had a very sleepy baby. Austin likes to hang onto "the bird" that's hanging on his carrier.

Joyce and Sam with Austin before the game.

Granny Fern rocking Austin. She is VERY good at making him laugh!

We got to enjoy a whole week of Andrew being off work, so we headed to Ruidoso to cool off. We stayed at Inn of the Mountain Gods with my parents. We decided to try pedal boating...

We also got to enjoy the horse races!

Austin was so good for the whole trip, but we WORE this baby out!

Austin and I went for a stroll around the hotel because it was too cool to go outside after we had a rain shower.

Immediately when Mom got in the boat she let us know she did NOT like this.

This was SO hard. I never dreamed it would be that difficult to pedal that little boat around, but WOW!! Dad's seat back even broke! He could have tumbled in the lake!

We made a little bed for Austin in the floor and this is how he slept. Could he possibly look any sweeter?!?

After all of our little trips Austin is still recovering. He slept ALL day today. We had a good time though while we were gone enjoying lots of family time:).

The Moods of Austin

This is one cool dude we have. This is how he has to sit now when he eats his baby food. The feet must be propped up! It's so funny, every time I sit him in the high chair he does this. I forgot to include these next 2 when I did the anniversary post. Yes, we saved a piece of our wedding cake and froze it over the last year. We both did eat (a bite) of the cake. Surprisingly, I thought it was pretty good!

Here's the pillowcases Andrew got me for our anniversary. Very thoughtful hubby I have:).

Here's Austin when we were on the way home from his 4 month checkup in Lovington. He was OUT!! Could he look any sweeter?

So yesterday my sweet baby boy decided he no longer needed to take naps now that he is 4 months old. He turned into a monster! Here's how our day began...

Here's the middle of the day...

And here he is after a TWENTY minute nap! He took 3 20 minute naps and that was it!

Today was MUCH better. He took a 2 1/2 hour nap this afternoon! He also had several other little naps throughout the day. And further updates...right after Austin turned 3 months old we started putting him to bed at 10 o'clock. We give him a bath and a bottle and this seems to relax him. Sometimes during the bottle he is OUT and I can take him straight to bed, sometimes we go to the swing for a little while. He sleeps until at LEAST 4 each morning, but has made it to 7:30. He gets up to eat and goes right back to sleep. He likes to sleep until about 11 which I don't mind a bit! We get up and eat some baby food and then I get him dressed. He LOVES to be naked. I look forward to getting him dressed everyday because I can make him laugh so hard. He is SOOO ticklish! We still have "the sleeper hold," but I'm afraid he's starting to outgrow it. He still does it at night where I get to snuggle up with him to give him a bottle, but he doesn't do it as much during the day. He now realizes I'm putting to sleep when I hold him like that. He has been able to roll over tummy to back for awhile, but tonight he rolled back to tummy...kind of. I was getting him ready to leave Mom and Dad's house and laid him down on the couch. It's SLIGHTLY slanted and he did it there, so he had a little extra help. He has been really, really close for awhile when he's been laying in the floor. He also really like to play in his play gym. He kicks and scoots around in a 360 circle while laying there. He's getting REALLY good at his jumperoo. That's definitely a HIT!! He's definitely more playful!

4 Months Old!!

My sweet boy turned 4 months old this past week! He's growing soooo fast. He has really got into this whole baby food thing. He LOVES it! So far we have had rice cereal, applesauce, peaches, bananas, carrots, and green beans. It was all a hit..except the green beans. Somehow those just seem to fall out of his mouth;). This kid is hysterical in his new bouncer. He really enjoys bouncing AND watching TV. He doesn't care, he'll watch anything. Just keep the boy in front of the TV!

This is Austin watching Fox News on the economy. He's a very informed young man!

And his 4 month pictures...You can REALLY tell he's grown this month!

I couldn't get him to sit up in the chair. He has this great new trick where he lifts his bootie up and slinks down every time I try to get him to sit up. He also loves to do that when I put him in the car seat!

We had our 4 month checkup on Thursday. He is now 13 pounds and 24 inches long. He's 2 foot tall! In the past he has been below the 5th percentile in all of the categories. He has now moved up to be between the 10th and 25th percentiles. I guess it's a good thing he started at 4 pounds...the boy likes to EAT!! He also had to have his shots. One of the shots was oral and the nurse asked ME to give it to him. I did and he did very well with it. Then he had to do the bad part. I laid him down on the table and held his hands and talked to him and Andrew was on the other side. She gave him his first shot and he just looked at me REALLY shocked. Then he got his second one and WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! He SCREAMED! It didn't last long and we gave him Tylenol and he was sound asleep by the time I buckled him in the car seat. He slept for almost 24 hours, only waking to eat. He ran a little fever the next day, but is all better now! He never even acted like his legs bothered him. I'm glad that part is OVER!!

4th of July

I'm a little late on our 4th of July pictures, but here they are! This is me with Austin before we went over to Kristi's. We all had our 4th of July outfits to wear. Daddy and Austin chilling on the coach while I was cooking in the kitchen.

Yeah, he's pretty cute. This is his 4th of July outfit Mimi gave him. He also had his picture taken in it the next day when we went to Midland. We should get them back this week! I can't wait to get them.

Austin and Aunt Kristi

Cousins! Kamden won this giraffe for Austin when he was in Vegas. Austin liked it!

Sis and Austin

4th of July is also Kamden's birthday. My friend, Maria, made this super cute Lego cake for him!

Andrew, Sis, and I went to the Lee Greenwood concert that night also. We got to sing, "I'm Proud to be an American."

Austin was all tuckered out by the time we started the fireworks. He slept through part of them, but then woke up during the loud ones. We had to leave to get this baby home to bed.

We got one picture of the 3 of us...

1 Year Anniversary

One year ago today Andrew and I got married. Ohhh the difference a year makes! We've had a fantastic first year in so many ways. Before we got married we had never lived in the same town, much less the same house! It's been such a relief to no longer do weekend visits and to get to see each other all of the time. I definitely don't miss all of the time I used to spend on the phone. In the past year we went through pregnancy and Austin's arrival. I HATED every second of being pregnant, but Andrew was so good to me even when I was grouchy. When I was put into the hospital with pre-eclampsia he spent every night in the hospital with me on a bed that wasn't even as wide as his shoulders. He never complained once. (We even busted out of the hospital one night to go for a ride and have a hot chocolate, but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone!!) Once we came home, he has been the best Daddy ever. He does everything for Austin: feeds, changes, bathes, all of it. I love him more today than I did yesterday, but not as much as I will tomorrow...

Baby Food

I read on Facebook about a Gerber baby contest. This is the picture I submitted of Austin. I had to grab something quick and didn't have time to do a photo shoot with him. Ha ha! I think he's pretty darn cute though! This week we went over to Seminole to visit the Sloans. Austin was a little spoiled from all of the attention! We had a great time! Such a cutie! Here's Austin in his PJs getting ready to go to bed.

Today Austin chilled out and watched The Doctors with me. I'm getting him trained right!

Austin was having some issues with spitting up a lot last week and we were sent for an upper GI. He had to drink the barium and he did very well with it. We went to see Dr. Murillo today to get the results and everything looked great. They found nothing significant in the upper GI, so we are very thankful for that. Today he was 12 lbs 6 oz and 23 1/2 inches long. Dr. Murillo looked at him and said, "He's getting kind of chunky." LOL He's come a long way from that little 4 pounder! Austin got lots of good news today, we get to start baby food!! Here he is at the doctor's office. He was sooo good today. He stared at Dr. Murillo the whole time she was talking like he was listening to her every word.

We had planned on getting a high chair next week when we go to Midland. We didn't think we would get to do baby food until his 4 month checkup later this month, but Dr. Murillo surprised us today. We will just use hims Bumbo seat for now. Here Austin is before we got started...

And here he is during!

It was relatively uneventful. We did the baby food for the first time after he had just had a big bottle, so he really wasn't that hungry. He ate it and seemed to like it, but wasn't overly excited about it. We have a video of it that I will have to add later.

And then we decided we'd rather eat the bib...

He did very well with the applesauce and only spewed it back at me once. HA!!
