Shane and Shannon
Shannon said this was her favorite part of our dance - That shocks me;)!
Shannon took this picture of us at our wedding reception
Today was a bad day. This morning Andrew's cousin, Shannon, passed away. She was 37 years old and leaves behind a husband and 2 little boys. I think I can speak for everyone by saying it is completely shocking news. Shannon friended me on Facebook some time ago before we ever met in person. We talked quite a bit on there and seemed got to know each other. I immediately liked her, LOVED her sense of humor. The first time I ever met her in person was at my wedding shower in Odessa. She drove from San Angelo for the shower and surprised Andrew and me. When she walked in I looked at her and knew who she was. We immediately hugged and felt like we had known each other forever. After the shower Andrew, Shannon, and I went and ate at Texas Roadhouse. We sat and talked FOREVER. I told Shannon when we left that night that I felt like I had known her for years. We made plans that day saying that Andrew and I would love to go and visit them in San Angelo. She said she'd love to come see us in Hobbs and go hang out at the casino. Shannon told us that night she wanted to see her family much more. Shannon and John came to Hobbs for the wedding just 7 weeks ago. They stayed up at the casino helping us decorate for the reception very late the night before. The next day they were both at the wedding and had a BLAST at the reception. One of my favorite parts of the wedding video is seeing Shannon and Kent dancing to the Cotton Eyed Joe. This morning Andrew called to tell me the awful news...Shannon had passed away. She had been posting on Facebook the last several days saying she wasn't feeling well, but I didn't think it was going to come to this. I am sad, shocked, and baffled. It's very hard to believe. Last week I put as my status update that I couldn't wait for the Tech game on Sunday the 5th. Being a Longhorn fan, she responded she thought she might have to ignore my posts for the next couple of weeks. I think she might be laughing at me a little now. On Sunday I will not being going to the Texas Tech football game, but to to her funeral instead. Shannon, I'm glad I got to get to know you, but I'm sorry time was cut so short. We love you. You will be missed:(.
