Our Own Easter Bunny

What a fun few days we've had! I was off work on Friday all day for Good Friday. Austin and I went to Lubbock with Mom and Kristi. We enjoyed a day of shopping AND Austin got to meet the Easter Bunny! On Saturday Austin had another play date with his friend, Brenden. Then on Sunday we all headed to church. Austin had a serious case of his grunts and groans so we had to leave a little early. We came home and got ready to go to Sis's house for Easter Dinner. It was delicious as always! Here's a picture of the cutest little bunny I've ever seen... Aunt Kristi taking care of Austin on Easter:)

Andrew and Kason hanging out.

Austin had some good nap time on Easter.

He's just the cutest!

The last few days Austin has been holding his bottle without having any idea what he's doing!

Austin and the Easter Bunny in Lubbock. We waited in line for a LONG time for this picture. The bunny was on a LONG break! He was awake and in a great mood when we first got in line...

This is what happened while we were waiting in line...

My friend, Cindy, has a little boy that is 1. He had this seahorse, but it scared him so Cindy let Austin see if he would like it any better. The kid LOVES this seahorse! So far it's really the only toy he has taken to. Many times it calms him down when he's mad. We have been taking it in the car with us in his car seat to keep him company. Thanks for the new toy, Cindy!

Sweet Baby Austin

We have had quite the eventful week. I went back to work last Monday for half days and that has gone great. It's made us a lot busier though! Last week we also took Austin to the pediatric cardiologist for a heart murmur. We are very grateful to say everything is OK with him. Here's Austin having some tummy time with his signature wrinkled forehead. Andrew and I met another couple in our baby class. We went to dinner with them on Saturday night. Their son, Brenden, is 2 weeks older than Austin. The boy eats well;).

This is Daddy giving Austin a bath. He is such a good Daddy! Check out the double chin!

We also took Austin to church for the first time and this is his outfit. He sat with us because I think he is still too little to go to the nursery. We sat in the back row and ALMOST made it through the entire service. Austin was good, just a LOT of grunting.

1 Month Old! Continued...

We've had a great day! Austin hung out with Mom and Dad while I went to work. It was sooo good to see my kids. They were so sweet! They didn't know I was coming back today and I showed up to pick them up after lunch. They were super excited. Such a sweet class! After school I took Austin for a walk at Green Meadows. It was such a nice day! Austin with Mimi
I was trying to get a picture of his outfit to send to his Granny. Here's the face I got! This is a little dose of his temper;).
1 Month Old - I'm going to add this pose to the crib pose that we'll do each month. It's going to be so fun to watch him grow. I'm thinking he'll outgrow that bear very soon!
I took a bunch of these because he was kicking around so much. I wanted one where his legs were out so we can see how long he is. This one is funny because it looks like he's checking out that bear wondering what the heck it is!

1 Month Old!

Here are some random pictures of Austin I've taken over the last week. These are his hands crossed while I was feeding him. So cute!Sometimes he has a little problem with gas pains =( and laying on my chest like this seems to help...and put him to sleep!
Kason and Austin - Kason has been very sweet to his cousin:).
Austin chillin' at Mimi's house! It looks a little to me like a guns up with his left hand;).
This one cracked me up! Sound asleep with his hands up like that.

We have a 1 month old baby boy! In some ways it's hard to believe he's a month old and other ways it seems like he has been here a LONG time. We are starting to really see some of his personality. The kid HAS a temper! He wants what he wants when he wants it. We joke that he is Boss Austin! We have made some serious progress the last couple of nights. We put him to bed around 12 and he has been sleeping until 4! Then he has been going back to sleep until around 8 when he's ready to eat again! He'll go back to sleep then until about 11 when he is ready to eat and then have some awake time. He is very alert from about 11 to 2 or so. Then he naps most of the afternoon and has more alert time in the evening after his bath before we start the process all over again. We are super excited about this sleeping longer during the night thing. I usually take first and third shift. Andrew takes the 2nd shift, but my 3rd shift has been cut out the last couple of nights. Woohoo!! I'm going back to work today! It'll only be half days. I'll work 1:00-3:30 and I'm really looking forward to it. I've missed my class! Austin will be with my parents.

Just Swingin' Away!

Tonight I tried Austin in his swing again. When we first came home from the hospital we tried it, but it was too much for him. He didn't weight it down enough. BUT he's gained about 2 pounds since then and he loved it tonight! He stayed in it quite awhile just looking around and hanging out. So cute!

Goodbye Ole Girl

Andrew and I ordered me a new car about 8 weeks ago and Monday it finally came in. It took them a little while to get all of the papers in order and on Wednesday it was delivered to us! I cleaned out my old car on Tuesday night and realized I will miss my car! I had the Trailblazer for 5 1/2 years! We've been on many trips to Austin to see Andrew, tons of Texas Tech games together, and so much. This is her leaving;)... And here's the new one! I've never had a car with so many bells and whistles. She is pretty awesome!
AND today I finally got to go for my pedicure. I have been wanting this pedicure since I was in the hospital and finally got around to going today. I went ahead and splurged for a mani also!
I can now show my toes. It's officially spring!

A Growing Baby Boy

Austin had his 2 week checkup on Friday and things went very well. He is a 5 pounder now! He has gained 15 ounces in 2 weeks which the doctor was very pleased with. He is 18.5 inches long which means he has grown a half an inch. We will go back in a month and see how much more he has grown. I'm thinking there's a good chance he'll be a 7 pounder by then! I'm stealing a neat idea from my friend, Cindy, and we will take his picture each month next to the same toy in his crib to show his growth. Here's his first picture which is at 2 weeks. I should have done it a little sooner, but I'll do better from now on:). And here's a picture of Austin's first nap in his crib. He still sleeps in our room, but I read somewhere it's a good idea to put babies down in their crib for a nap at least once a day before you move them in there for the whole night. The first time I put him down it resulted in him waking up screaming within 2 minutes. I put him back down a little bit later and he had a good nap!
