Happy 1/2 Birthday to Austin!!!

September 11, 2011 is Austin's 1/2 birthday, at least there's something good now to associate with the date! We spent his 1/2 birthday in Lubbock. We got to go have Austin's 6 months pictures taken. They came out sooo very cute! Here they are... Check out this jersey! It's a Miles Austin jersey and says Austin on the back. How cute is that!?! I loooove this picture!

We also got this collage. The Ausin on there is a picture of the back of the jersey. Our little man is looking so cute and grow up! One of the reasons we went to Lubbock was to see Aunt Clara on Andrew's side of the family. She's been in the hospital. She had a great time playing with Austin!

Sam and Granny were also over there seeing Clara. Sam was such a good grandpa and took Austin for a long walk in the stroller around the hospital. Austin looooves walking in his stroller. How cute do Austin and Sam look here?!?!
Well, the bad part about turning 6 months old is MORE shots. Austin had his 6 month check up on September 14th. She was again impressed with him and told me how very strong and alert he is. He is now 15 lbs 2 oz and 25 inches long. He's still on the small side in the 10th percentile, but it's a lot better than being below the 5th where we started! However, his head is in the 25th percentile! Such a big boy! Check out the bandaides. Poor baby....

He was really good after his shots. They don't seem to bother, except make him sleep. He slept 8pm to 7:15am that night after his shots! And his 6 month pictures...

Once upon a time that bear was bigger than him...

He is a very happy and alert boy!
OK, Mom, I'm about tired of these pictures!

Austin is the absolute best thing ever. Andrew and I are amazed everyday by the things he does and how much we love him. We are so thankful for such a healthy, happy baby boy. We are very blessed by our sweet boy. Six months has marked for him to be sooo very alert, OK he's actually NOSY!! His head whips around at any small sound. He knows the sound of the door opening and is looking to see who is coming in. He's still rolling all over the place. He pushes up on his arms like he's going to start crawling, but he's that's still going to be a while. He's still in the skydiving and swimming phase when he's on his tummy. He's not getting on all 4s yet. I'm OK with waiting a little while for all of that. He can sit up for about 2 seconds at a time and then crashes. He can hold himself up longer when he leans forward with his hands down. The boppy pillow doesn't help him hold himself because he throws himself backward, so much so I'm afraid he'll hurt his neck and we don't use it anymore! He's a GREAT night sleeper. He goes to bed anywhere from 8-10. It's usually somewhere between 9 and 9:30. Sometimes (like last night) it's earlier if he's a grouch. The reason he's a grouch at night sometimes is because he's not a good napper during the day! He fights naps so hard! It's funny how easy he is to put to bed at night and how hard it is to get him to take a nap during the day. Sometimes he'll surprise you and have a 2 1/2 hour nap and sometimes it'll be 30 minutes...crazy kid! At night our routine is bath, bottle, and bed. Sometimes he falls to sleep while he's eating his bottle and sometimes he doesn't. We can still put him in his bed AWAKE at night, put his pacifier in, turn on his music and he'll go to sleep without crying. Love that! Yes, you're right...I'm in awe of my Baby Austin:).
