Today we went to Caelyn's 1st birthday party! He was SOOO good while we were there. Surprising, he does really well in a big group of people. It's because he's soooo nosy and likes to watch everything that's going on! He's sitting on Cindy's lap there. Went to her with no problem at all...
He wanted down and just sat in the floor right by her for quite awhile!
Then he got a little more comfortable...All of the babies from our summer play group were there. This time they actually did some playing!
Austin decided to try Caelyn's toys out for her...
There was a point where they were all in the floor together going after different toys and rolling on top of each other. Pretty funny!
Real men like pink...
Tonight after Austin was sound asleep I went into his room to get his laundry. I peaked in on him and this is what I found. I had to go get my camera. I thought about it and decided it was definitely worth the risk of waking him. This is a must have picture! This has to be one of the sweetest pictures I've ever seen...
And I did his 11 month old pictures today! Of course, he was difficult!
The booger sucker is now part of our monthly pictures...
Y
Yep, he's a big boy! In some ways it's hard to believe he's already 11 months old and in others it's hard to believe he's only 11 months old. He is now 19 lbs and 14 oz. I guess every age has been my favorite as we come to them and this is no exception. It just seems like he's learning so much so fast these days. His vocabulary is expanding. He can now say Mama, Dada, bye bye, Papa, ball, boo, hey, and hi. He can wave hi and bye. We're working on blowing kisses. He's got the kissing part down, but won't put his hand to his mouth yet. He gives kisses and loves. He gives big, wet, open mouth kisses. He gives loves by putting his cheek on my cheek and saying...ooooooooh. His favorite word right now is boo! He says it ALL day long. If I say it to him he will immediately repeat it back to me. He also associates it with a door because we play Peak a Boo so much with a door. Now when he opens and closes a door by himself he says boo the entire time. It's pretty cute. Opening and closing door and playing Peak a Boo are his favorite things to do right now. He can seriously be entertained for 30 minutes with the gate going into the kitchen. He's usually pretty good at restaurants because he still likes looking at everyone/everything so much. He usually has his head turned away from us the whole time we're there and looking at other people.
Austin is a Daddy's boy! He loves playing with Andrew SOOO much. He gets so excited when Andrew comes home from work. When he hears the door open he jerks his head around to look and see if it's him and then starts kicking his legs until Andrew comes to pick him up. They have a ball playing in the floor together. Andrew always has to take off his glasses when they play because Austin immediately goes after them.
He still goes to bed at about 8:30 and he's been sleeping until 5:30-6:30 and he'll get up for a bottle and go back to sleep. He'll usually take about an hour nap in the morning and around a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. Last month I thought he was starting to get a tooth, but either I was seeing things or it went back down. I had a good look tonight and NO TEETH! Dr. Murillo told us at his 9 month appointment we could start giving him a little of our food, but it's a bit limited when he has no teeth! At this point it's usually just mashed potatoes or baked potato. The boy DOES love ice cream though! My mom gives Kamden and Kason ice cream some days after school. Austin knows and he doesn't allow being left out of the ice cream! He demands to have his own bowl! I shared a little of a cupcake with him today too and he definitely liked it. I figured we should practice for his birthday:).
He's really good at walking with his walking push toy now, but still has awhile before he will be ready to walk alone. He loves to play with the toys in the toy room here and out my parents' house. He likes to play with balls. He will push the ball all around the living room and crawl after it and then push it again. He looks like a little puppy playing:). I am super excited for the next month. We already have ordered his birthday gifts and working on planning his party. I'm anxious to get to blog about his birthday! For now, I'll enjoy every moment before he is the big O-N-E!!
