8 Months Old!

We have a precious baby boy. He is soooo much fun! Here he is making it over the step and into the kitchen for the first time. Hi, Mom! This is while he's working to get over the step...

Just chillin'...he's a cool dude!

Wassup?

The mornings are cooooold, especially when you don't have much hair!

Austin had fun playing while we were waiting to have his 8 month old pictures taken!

And his 8 month pictures...

Love that little smile!

He's a big boy!

Getting sooo big!

The biggest thing Austin has learned this month is crawling. He got it going just a few days before he turned 8 months old. He's OFF now, we're having to begin learning the meaning of the word...No! LOL Surprise, surprise! His reflux is now back. He's been spitting up and runny nose, so we took him to the doctor. She said he has reflux again and he had double ear infections. Poor baby. He's better now, but we're back on the Zantac and it's helping. He's 17 lbs 10 oz. I'm not sure on the inches, but we go back to the doctor on Wednesday and I'll find that out. He's been sleeping great. He goes to bed a little after 8 and sleeps until 6:30ish. Occasionally he'll wake up around 4 to eat, but not too often. If he does, he goes right back to sleep so that helps at least. This past month he has also learned to wave bye bye. It's so sweet. He loooves to eat his baby food, gobbles it up sooo fast. His favorite song is The Itsy Bitsy Spider. My mom discovered this. If we sing it to him when he's mad a lot of times he'll quit crying to listen. He's full of giggles, laughs, and smiles. He still definitely keeps us in line and lets us know what he wants though:)! Make sure you check out the videos below. It's a 2 blog post kind of a day!

Breaking Barriers

Austin has really taken off with his crawling. For a couple of days we put pillows around the living room and he wouldn't go near them and just play in the space. We figured it wouldn't last long and it didn't! The next barrier we had was the step from the sunk in living room. We figured that wouldn't last long either...

And of course it didn't! He made it this morning while I was in the kitchen doing bottles. We're in big trouble now!

Austin got a hat to keep his bald head warm during the winter. Surprise, surprise! It's a football!

Austin got invited to his first birthday party. Christian is about to turn 1! He was in our play group this summer!

Soooooo close....

Like father, like son. Check at the video below. This is taken after the video of him trying to crawl...
Austin is at a really fun age. He's very alert (OK maybe he's a little nosy), happy, and playful (most of the time). Here is all dressed up with shoes on for the very first time.... He didn't nlike them much. I think they might have been a little small, so I ordered some new ones and we'll give those a shot when they come in. He also likes to hold his own bottle...when it's not an emergency to eat RIGHT NOW.

He has been acting like he was going to start crawling for over a month now. He got up on his knees and started rocking, so I figured he'd be all over by now. One week he learned to move his legs, but the he would do a face plant in the carpet. The next week he learned to use his arms, but then didn't have his legs going. This past week he has learned to go any way any how. It's so funny. He gets his whole body into it. This video was taken early during the week...

I'll have to update his crawling soon. He's already a lot better at it than in this video.

Happy Halloween!

Sunday night we carved our pumpkin! Austin liked the ooey gooey pumpkin guts!

He has a thing with textures, so this seemed to fascinate him...

And of course in the middle of pumpkin carving, he had to take a break and check out the sales from the newspaper...

Daddy did a good job carving our pumpkin!

Checking it out...

For some reason when I thought of Halloween I just immediately pictured Austin in a lion costume. So that's what he HAD to be! How cute is this little lion?!?

Sweet lion...

How cute are we?!?! The Wizard of Oz! Dorothy was back in Kansas during this picture...

We went around a visited family. Here's Janet and Austin...
It was a super fun Halloween!

Pumpkin Pickin'

We've been enjoying lots of Fall Fun! The weekend before last we went to a pumpkin patch at a church here. The sun got in Austins eyes... It's cute, but that darn sun...

This was a really neat festival. We got to go out and pick our pumpkin! How fun is that?!

This last weekend Andrew and I took Austin to The Fiddlestick Farm in Midland, TX. Here's Andrew and Austin sitting out front.

We checked out the cows, chickens, and pigs. Austin liked watching them. There was lots of neat things that he will REALLY enjoy next year.

How cute is this face?!

He was so good while we were here. This was right up his alley...lots of things to stare at!

Afterward we went over to see Andrew's parents and Granny. Austin put on quite the show of course!

Austin and Cindy - Cindy is so sweet to Austin. Austin was kicking away and would kick Cindy. Cindy would just get up and move.

This next week we will be looking forward to pumpkin carving and Halloween. Guess what Austin will be!?!? It's gonna be GOOOOOOD...

7 Months

Since I had the day off today, I went ahead and took Austin's 7 month pictures 1 day early. He can't change TOOO much in 1 day;). This month was definitely the most difficult one to get the pictures from him. The second I put him down in the crib this is what I got... This one is a bit out of order, but we have our first owie. Austin rolled over last night onto the jumper and got a little red mark on his head. He cried so hard. I think it was the combination of him being tired and it hurt.

This is the best I could get! Crazy kid!

And here he is looking extra cute but being difficult! Yes, he's VERY good at getting up on his hands and knees rocking these days. He's getting very close to crawling! He just kind of lunges forward sometimes and does a face plant into the carpet.

OK, now he's being a little more cooperative. Love that smile!

This is sooo painful having to lay on my back in my bed!

Yep, he's a cutie!

This one makes me a little sad. I cleaned out some of his clothes in his closet today. This is one of his premie outfits. It was way too big when we first brought him home from the hospital...

I can't believe how much he's grown. He started at 4 lbs and .5 oz. He is now 16 lbs 5.5 oz. When he was first born I worried and worried about him growing and getting bigger and now it makes me a little sad. However, I looooove this stage right now. Austin is so fun and playful these days. He is VERY alert and aware of everything around him. He loves to play in his jumperoo and play gym. He also enjoys sitting in his bouncer at night and watching Baby Einstein. The cartoon parts are his favorite. He loves to chew on his giraffe, Sophie. He has learned this great new trick of making farting noises with his mouth and spewing spit all over the place. It cracks me and Andrew up every time. He also has started sticking out his tongue. It's cute now, but later....lol We go for a walk each evening and he really likes that. It seems to relax him. I just have to make sure I get home before dark because he cries after it gets dark outside. He loooooves his baby food. He eats cereal every morning, 1/2 fruit and 1/2 a veggie for lunch and dinner, and a yogurt for a late night snack. He likes to take a bath around 8:15. Bath time is always a hit, BUT getting out is AWFUL. He screams from the time I pick him up out of the tub until his bottle is in his mouth. It makes things a little difficult sometimes. He was sleeping from 8:30ish until 6:30ish, BUT for the last week he has been waking up around 4:30 to eat and goes right back to sleep. A growth spurt maybe? He's very easy to put to sleep at night, but isn't always the best napper during the day. He is a precious, precious baby boy that we are very blessed to have and love.
